Dear Diary

Thu Mar 13, 2008 at 07:36:03 PM PDT

Dear diary,  I'm wondering what has happened to you my diary.

Last year I ventured inside the walls of kingdom kos and like any newbie I jumped back out and said whoa.  My diary you didn't grab me, in fact you scared me.

Kos is a scary place for those unfamiliar with the system.  Myself, I come from the forums of Democraticunderground.  Forums I understand with the indexing and classification systems.  Want to read about Israel then drop into the Israel/Palestine forum and browse the posts from the last 48 or 72 hours.  I also have my own Wordpress Blog at Partizane.com which with syndication has really just become a cross post of my Kos writings along with other's I respect.

Nancy Pelosi's Freudian Slip

Tue Mar 11, 2008 at 06:45:07 PM PDT

Nancy Pelosi tells Boston TV that a Clinton-Obama or Obama-Clinton ticket is "impossible."

"I think that the Clinton administration has fairly ruled that out by proclaiming that Senator McCain would be a better Commander in Chief than Obama. I think that either way is impossible," she said.

"Clinton Administration" As a Clinton supporter I'm glad to know that Speaker Pelosi is already thinking of the next Clinton Administration.

Mike Gravel - The One left Standing

Mon Mar 10, 2008 at 06:09:07 PM PDT

After Hillary and Barack finish with each other, Mike Gravel will be the only candidate left in the race who stands for progressive principles.

Mike Gravel, a man who sticks by his beliefs.

Over the edge we discuss Mike's stance on the issues.

American Idol that is.

Welcome, Welcome All!

This is a Party so come on over and bring your best party conversation.  We can talk about the Texas, Rhode Island, Vermont and Ohio Primaries or we can talk about the weather.  I don't really care as long as we talk.

Talk as Democrats having mature discourse while perhaps also having a drink or three.

The house will be serving the feature drink and a selection of our favorite nuts.

Beer Pong as always, is in the basement for those so inclined.  That's also where I'll be watching Idol.

Please read the house rules below the fold.

Is the spell really broken?

Mon Mar 03, 2008 at 08:56:54 PM PDT

Is it?

I hope it is and we can get back to debating issues rather than personality, skills rather than art.

Black backers steadfast for Clinton

Thu Feb 28, 2008 at 07:04:17 PM PDT

There may be intimidation and threats but according to Politico the Black Super Delegates are holding strong.

I think that threats may only make them stronger in their resolve.

Threats are not a new style of politics.  Threats are 1960's Chicago.

Joshephine Hearn's article at Politico

African-American superdelegates said Thursday that they’ll stand up against threats, intimidation and "Uncle Tom" smears rather than switch their support from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton to Sen. Barack Obama.

181 days - 6 Months

Mon Feb 25, 2008 at 04:58:42 PM PDT

That's how long until the Democratic National Convention.

181 Days
6 Months.

And people expect Hillary Clinton to drop out of this race!

Roughly 50% of the voters and all the big blue states have voted for Hillary.

No Republican states and no Open caucuses have voted for Hillary.  But all the big blue states with Democratic majorities, the heart of this party have.

  • But you want her to drop out?

Give me a f....n break.

Bitch is the New Black

Sun Feb 24, 2008 at 08:53:06 AM PDT

Thank you Tina Fey.  Thank you for saying what Hillary has been unable or unwilling to say herself.

Saturday Night Live is back and Tina was the host as the greatest comedy show in history comes out for Hillary.

The opening is on the flip side.

Me and 7 Obama Supporters - Wish me luck

Sat Feb 23, 2008 at 09:41:12 AM PDT

I am a long term Hillary supporter and my dear wife supports Senator Obama.  I am also a life long Democrat who has voted for every democrat since McGovern and will vote for our nominee in November.

Today we are off to visit friends who've moved to Vermont.  The friends and neighbors we will be visiting are all Obama supporters.  The food will be awesome, the wine even better, but, but....

I fear for my mind.  My individuality.  My undying belief that Hillary Rodham Clinton is the single best person to run for President in my lifetime.

In the interest of friendship and social niceties I will have to eat and drink so I'm asking my fellow Hillbots to watch my back.  I'll avoid any non-alcoholic punch style drinks but I can only be so careful.

If I'm not back here by noon Sunday please, please send in the rescue squad.

We'll provide the Nachos, union made of course, Tequila Shots and our Hpnotiq Margaritas.

This is my house and there are some rules:

  • The kids are supposed to be sleeping upstairs so leave your foul language at the door.
  • You can cheer for your candidate but shut up when the other girl is speaking.
  • No Hiding in my house.  It's bad enough when the kids play hide and seek, we don't need grownups trying to hide each other in closets.

Please leave your trolls upstairs, 1st bedroom on the right.  Our sitter Marisol will watch over them.

Yes We Will

Sat Feb 16, 2008 at 07:17:29 PM PDT

That in a nutshell is what I see as the difference between Hillary and Barack.

The Obama campaign's focus on Hope and Yes We can is by it's very nature saying it may not.  Can and Hope are not definitive.  Yes, I know this is semantics, but isn't that what it's all about?

I can drive a car is 100% different than saying I will drive a car.

Hillary Clinton Will do what she says.
Barack Obama May do what he says.

You will read on...

What Hillary Really Needs

Fri Feb 08, 2008 at 03:29:28 PM PDT

It's finally dawned on me.

What does Obama have that we Hillary supporters are missing?

We Hillbots have been joking about it for so long that it never dawned on us that maybe, just maybe it does work.

We need our own Hillary Punch and our own prayer group.

The prayer group is self explanatory.  A place for us to share our daily prayers for our Hillary and to be sure that she is anointed with blessings from above.

The punch is a more serious issue.  We need something subtle yet strong.  A punch that doesn't effect one's driving ability but when ingested in small quantities it induces a state of euphoria upon seeing the face of our leader, our mistress, our supreme enchantress, Hillary Clinton.

We also need a clear one which tastes like water and can be secreted in bottled water that we hand to unsuspecting fans at Hillary events and rock concerts.

If you'd like to help the cause, please supply your recipes below the fold

Michelle Obama - Support This

Mon Feb 04, 2008 at 07:28:42 PM PDT

For close to a year I've been saying that Michelle is the brains in the family.  I heard her speak for the first time last spring at the New Hampshire Democratic Convention and I was truly impressed with her.

But now. this extraordinary woman who's husband is running to be the Nominee of the Democratic Party.  This supposedly bright, Democrat can't bring herself to say she'd support Hillary Clinton if Hillary wins the nomination.

I quote:

Could you see yourself working to support the first woman nomination?

OBAMA: I'd have to think about that. I'd have to think about that, her policies, her approach, her tone.

ROBERTS: That's not a given?

OBAMA: You know, everyone in this party is going to work hard for whoever the nominee is. I think that we're all working for the same thing. and, you know, I think our goal is to make sure that the person in the White House is going to take this country in a different direction. I happen to believe that Barack is the only person who can really do that.

As quoted on Huffingtonpost, from Good Morning America

That is not my definition of Uniter

My Closing Argument for Hillary

Sun Feb 03, 2008 at 06:58:27 AM PDT

New material and lots of stuff I need to say again.  I hope the Kossacks will forgive me.

This is my final argument for Hillary.

I think Democrats are good people.  I have friends in every campaign and we treat each other with respect.  The Democrats of Daily Kos are no different.

You are good people and respectful.  Those tr's who frequent every candidate's diary's are trolls.  They are tr's sent by the right, maybe employed by the right.  They are here to do what they do.  Disrupt discourse and direct our conversations away from where they should be.  I don't have time to waste trying to convince the republican tr's here.

I'm am working hard for Hillary just as she has worked hard for us for 35 years.

Please join me now in my final argument.
